BIBA webinar - An update on standards impacting the Fire & Security sector presented by NSI

NSI appear in insurers conditions, risk improvement and customer guidance notes on security and fire, providing a register of approved companies carrying their Hallmark.  

In this session we will:-

  • Outline recent new and updated standards pertinent in the Life Safety and Security sector and the structure of standard developments in the UK
  • Outline the impact of the migration from the traditional telephone systems to digital platforms on connected Alarm systems
  • Provide an overview of key changes and updates to standards for visual confirmation
  • Outline the range of BAFE approval schemes focusing on Kitchen Fire Suppression and Evacuation Alert Systems for high rise residential properties.

Learning objectives:-

  • Understand the role of a UKAS accredited certification body in ensuring compliance and the way standards are formed
  • Identify some of the key standards Insurers require approved companies to adhere to
  • Identify some of the key future changes impacting Life Safety & Security systems and services
  • Understand the BAFE SP206 & SP207 registrations and their application in the UK
