Preparing the broker to be proactive and ‘have that IP conversation’ with their commercial clients. We will go through a workshop example of an ordinary manufacturing business and show the broker what to look for in terms of:

• IP protection – where might it be? What needs protecting?
• IP (designs/patents/brands) etc.
• Competition issues.
• Infringement defence and pursuit.
• Potential IP ‘pain points’ for the client.

Learning Objectives:

• Becoming professionally comfortable discussing IP protection needs.
• Going out to clients and engaging with them with sufficient knowledge to be IP confident.
• Recognising IP risk within the client business – understanding IP ‘pain points’
• Advising clients on IP risk.
