BIBA Schemes & Facilities webinar - Impact of a soft market on brokers presented by Manchester Underwriting Management

We will highlight the challenges created by a soft insurance market and the impact it has on brokers' own E&O records.  We will also be covering the increased activity of the FCA and the impact of the Consumer Duty on brokers’ E&O claims.

Presenters - Mike Holloway, Richard Webb & Kelly Hockley

Mike has over 18 year’ of insurance experience and joined PEN end of 2023. Mike has a long and successful background in Professional Indemnity broking where he started his insurance career at Kerry London Ltd as a Broker before moving to MGB Ltd where, he left as an Associate Director.  During the past 18 years, Mike has been mainly involved in placing Brokers own E&O and building broker relations

With over 35 years’ insurance experience, Richard joined Pen in 2021 with the acquisition of Manchester Underwriting Management. In August 2023, he took on the leadership of our new UK Financial Lines & Specialist Liability trading division, bringing together our extensive expertise in this area for the benefit of brokers. A professional indemnity specialist, Richard held leadership positions at HCC International and Hiscox prior to joining MUM in 2010, during which time he established underwriting branches, headed up marketing and held responsibility for broker development and claims

Kelly is the Financial Lines Claims manager and qualified solicitor with over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. Kelly excels in assessing claims, negotiating settlements, and ensuring compliance within regulatory requirements. Her expertise in risk management and strategic thinking enables her to handle high stakes claims efficiently and effectively. Kelly is known for her strong analytical skills, excellent communication and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, brokers and underwriters. They are committed to providing top- notch service and support helping clients to navigate the complexities of financial lines claims with confidence
